Pattern Description:
Girl’s/women’s leggings, stirrup tights, and layering miniskirt. I made the leggings (for use as tights).
Pattern Sizing:
US 2T through women’s 22. I made size S (US 6) though right now a T would probably fit better.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn’t even glance at them this time, sorry. They’re leggings.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Jalies of this era have short legs, which actually fit me as a petite (five feet and a fraction) out of the envelope.
Fabric Used:
Polyester knit with foil accents sold by the kilo from Ohlssons fabric stores in Sweden.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I certainly will, though if I sew outerwear I will size up by one.
Points of comparison to other Jalie leggings:
The Jalie website itself now says on this pattern’s page that the Stella leggings pattern 4023 is longer—taller sisters may want to use that instead.
Earlier I made up Jalie 3027 wrap top, tights, and spiral skirt tights from the same fabric for the same purpose of layering under dresses and pants. 3027 tights have a gusset instead of a single crotch seam and are much more comfortable under pants with a crotch seam of their own!!! But those double seams and back of leg seams look peculiar outside of an activewear context. Both this and that one have their purpose for us short sisters.
Conclusion:
It just works!

A classic for sure.

I hear you on the Jalie 3027… the bag leg seam may be a nice accent for dancers, but the back side gusset seams trace through clothes if you wear them as tights. I have this Jalie 2920 pattern too and remember using it before Stella came out. Both are nice and fit very well for being no-side-seams leggings. Nice to have options for both petites and us tall ladies alike! : )
