Pattern Description: Jacket with shawl collar, cuffs, side seam pockets and optional button front

Pattern Sizing: X-small to X-Large. I made size Medium.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes it did.

Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are easy to follow however the 2 hour reversible part is exaggerated.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I wanted to make a reversible jacket for winter with the stash fabric that needed using up.

Fabric Used: I used some old fabric labeled Royal Brown/Slate poly Distressed Microsuede. This stuff looks like the real thing sews like a poplin. The other side was some scratchy wool blend White/Beige/Multi blend Dobby Jacketing woven fabric.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I made none except to omit the button closure.

Would you sew it again? Maybe, too soon to tell

Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, make sure the fabrics are evenly weighted.

Conclusion: I had studied the reviews on PR. They all pretty much were satisfied and no one really addressed the 2 hour completion time. I guess if you have added all the pockets and the shawl collar so that all you have left is attaching the two jackets maybe you could squeeze it through under two hours.

The one caveat is to use evenly weighted fabric. I used a lovely sweater labeled as woven wool blend Dobby jacketing. It had stretch and a loose weave. After cutting I had to secure all the edges. That helped tremendously for the stretch and raveling. The fabric from the picture was gorgeous in realty it was scratchy like a steel wool cleaning pad. I did not know they still sell processed
wool like that.

My original goal was to have the white beige on the outside because it is so scratchy and rough. The jacket looks better with the scratchy sweater on the inside. I can reverse it perhaps in the Spring when the weather is warmer. So while it is snowy and the sub temps have us in their grip I can be warm.

A very handsome jacket! Love the reversibility of it and your chosen fabrics. Such a great piece to add to a wardrobe!

Thank you- that is exactly what I thought except the wool is so scratchy I can not bear it next to my skin. Lol

Ooh, this jacket looks amazing! Love that it's reversible and both sides look great. Very stylish and warm, even though you have to put up with the scratchiness.

Thank you- the best laid plans of mice and (wo)men often go astray. It feels like a neverending battle of fabric, pattern and my sewing. Lol

Snazzy jacket. And reversible? 2 jackets! Hope you can wear it as you originally intended, but it does look good the other way!

Thank you- this turned out to be a nouvelle coat after all. I had planned to wear the light side but as it turns out I like the brown faux suede better.

Love the combo you used-both the color and texture. Too bad about the scratchy wool blend. Hopefully, with enough layering pieces underneath it won't bother you too much.

Thank you- I layer so know bare skin touches the scratchy wool. Actually that works quite well and I must admit the coat is quite warm.

Looks super cool. Sorry the fabric is Brillo pad scratchy. But you'll look great while you itch away with gritted teeth.

Thank you- that pretty much sums it up. I have a scarf around my neck to avoid contact with the scratchy wool.
