This is the second cardigan I have made using this pattern and I'll keep this pattern for its overall usefulness for basic sporty clothes. This time I left off the buttons but did put in more effort in finishing techniques. I hand sewed the hem, started cuffs but reverted to the original turn back sleeve hem, and worked hard to get a smooth finish with the serger.

While I used a soft and thin sweater knit for version #1, this time I chose a chunky sweater knit which hangs nicely, not clinging to other fabric. This fabric gives the cardigan a jacket vibe and can be paired with jeans, pants, skirts or dresses. I have some retro pins which will be nice to add to the lapel.

Next up from this pattern will be pants but I will probably use only the waistband and pockets, using my TNT Butterick for the hips, rear and so on.

Pretty cardigan! Love the fabric and it's such a good color for you. I bet this will get lots of wear.

Your version of this sweater is beautiful. I'm am interested in the fabric you used. I used a thin, pleated cotton knit for my first version of this, but I think I'll use a beefier knit for my second. Thanks for the inspiration.

This is so beautiful, marec! It's a fantastic idea to have a cardigan sweater, that can be elegant and casual at the same time.
